Hand Crafted
Advice on selling Hand Crafted Greetings Cards please?
I have been making quality greetings cards for a few months and want to try to sell them. Anyone out there had experience? How do I find good outlets? How much should I try to charge? What percentage will the shop want to take? Are car boot sales a possibility (I’ve never been to one!). Any suggestions welcomed. Thanks for reading this. Helen.
i don’t make greeting cards but what I’m telling you is from many years of small shop retail experience. Try selling your cards to a speciality boutique or small shop. Usually people charge at least 50% extra on top of what they paid for the materials. When you sell to a shop you charge them your price but they will tack on an extra percentage to make more money off them. I would also suggest getting a website and starting marketing through friends, family, an co-workers. Once the word has spread about your product you’ll be getting more sales. Also sign up for a festival or craft fair and set up a booth. Good Luck with your selling!
