National Medal
Is it to late to start boxing?
Is it to late to start boxing for me?
I have done judo/jujtisu since age 8-15, won numerous national medals from it. I have done Krav Maga for a year at age 15.
I am now 17, and haven’t excersie much, except for 4 miles once a week on Sunday.
Is it too late for me to start boxing?
If anyone knows, is punching is Krav Maga similar to boxing in term of punching/stances?
Krav Maga actually incorporates boxing into it. So you will see a lot of the basic punches like jabs and hooks being the same once you start boxing. It is never too late to start boxing. Earnie Shavers and Antonio Tarver didn’t pick up the sport until 22 and Tarver didn’t even turn pro until 28. Ronald Hearns didn’t start until 24. Kermit Cintron didn’t start until 19. Sergio Martinez at 20. Plenty of boxers started later than you and still did something in the sport. I actually just recall reading an article about a 32 yr old that just picked up the sport and was fighting in the golden gloves in a few months. It’s not when you start but how fast you pick it up.
